Newlywed Life
So...we are already 7 days into our married life. Crazy, huh? Everyone tells you that the wedding events will fly by, but what they don't tell you is that newlywed life starts to fly by as well. Not too fast yet, but time will tell!
The most common piece of advice any bride will receive leading up to her wedding day is "to be sure to take it all in, savor the moments." Because as many a bride will know, the wedding day goes by super fast. Luckily for me, there were only moments of the day that went by super fast, which happened to be getting ready and then walking down the aisle. I really feel I was able to take it all in, so the advice that was said over and over to me, I think might of actually worked. Plus my shoes were killer! I had to stop every five seconds are so, just to regain composure! But I also remembered the advice of taking mental snapshots (courtesy of Jim and Pam from The Office.) Many of my mental snapshots are around moments with my girls leading up to the ceremony, moments with family, compliments that will last me a life time, and the moment that I turned the corner to meet my husband, even if I was tear-y eyed and sniffly!
So that leads us in short to today. 7 days in. Matt calls this our Pizza Hut - One week anniversary. Comical, I know. But that is my Matty. I will keep you all posted on the names of our next unofficial anniversaries. In the past seven days, we became husband and wife, went to the BVI for our honeymoon and now have safely returned home. The thought of returning to reality next week saddens me. As much I crave normalcy, I really do think I might have post-wedding blues. You spend so much time planning for a single day (in my case, close to a year and a half of planning) when in reality you should prepare for the next steps in your life and not every conversation to revolve around the wedding. Well I am lucky, because as a newlywed, I am lucky to have a husband (I love saying the word husband) that thinks ahead and has begun planning the rest of our lives together. So with this as my first blog post as a married gal, I dedicate it to my love, Matt. I look forward to all the precious memories we have in store. I love you baby!
